The Summit Township Supervisors will hold
a public hearing at 7:00 p.m. on September
21, 2011 at the Summit Township Municipal
Building, 502 Bonniebrook Road, Butler,
PA 16002. The purpose of the hearing is
to obtain public comment on an ordinance
entitled: “An Ordinance signifying the intention and desire of Summit Township, Butler
County, Pennsylvania, to terminate the Summit Authority so it can subsequently establish
a Sewer and Water Authority”. The Board of
Supervisors will vote on the Ordinance at
their regular meeting at 7:00 p.m. on September 21, 2011 following the public hearing.
A summary of the Ordinance is as follows:
The purpose of the Ordinance is to terminate the Summit Authority, which was
established for public sewer purposes,
so as to be able to establish an Authority
to promote, establish and manage both a
public water system and a public sewer
system. The Ordinance directs that all necessary action be undertaken to terminate
the Authority, including filing a Certificate
of Termination with the Secretary of the
Commonwealth. Ordinance No. 55 establishing the Summit Authority is repealed
in its entirety.
