2012 High School Mock
Trial Competition
Feb 7 & 8 , 9 teams from 7 local high
schools will be competing in the district
level of the Statewide Mock Trial Competition at the Butler County Courthouse
beginning at 5:30 pm.
The mock trial competition is an academic
challenge where participating students
learn about our justice system and then
put that knowledge into practice in front of
real-life judges, lawyers and business professionals. During their mock trial experience,
students gain valuable presentation and critical-thinking skills that can be put to good use
at college and in many types of future careers.
The Statewide Mock Trial Competition is sponsored by the Pennsylvania Bar Association
Young Lawyers Division and is hosted annually by the Butler County Bar Association and
Butler County Court of Common Pleas.
Local teams participating in the 2012 Statewide Mock Trial Competition (Armstrong, Butler
and Lawrence) are:
Butler Area High School (two teams); Freeport Area High School; Lincoln High School;
Moniteau Jr./Sr. High School; New Castle High School; Seneca Valley Intermediate High
School; Seneca Valley Senior High School and Slippery Rock Area High School.
