Health and Cleaning
• Provide masks for employees to wear at all times.
• Clean and disinfect the building frequently,
especially high-touch areas.
• Make sure employees have access to soap and
water, hand sanitizer, and disinfectant wipes.
• Tell employees they should notify their supervisor
if they are sick and stay home.
Social Distancing
• Prevent large groups from entering or leaving the
building at the same time.
• Limit the number of employees in common areas.
• Conduct meetings vir tually. For in-person
meetings, limit the number of employees to 10
and maintain a distance of six feet.
• Don’t allow non-essential visitors.
If there is a COVID-19 exposure in your building
• Establish a plan for employee COVID -19
exposure, that includes building cleaning and
notifying affected employees.

MEMO FROM BUTLER COUNTY FAMILY COURT JUDGES
MAY 12, 2020
Dear Attorneys,
. We recognize that you may have many questions about how family court matters will
proceed in the next weeks and months. Judge Streib and Judge Robinson have been
meeting on a regular basis reviewing the needs of the court, litigants and attorneys. We ar.
constantly considering the safety of litigants, attorneys and court staff while maintaining
due process and access to the courts. We appreciate the patience and flexibility you
have shown during these unusual times.
. Like you, we are anxious to resume all operations. While the Pennsylvania Supreme
Court permitted counties to re-open the courts to the general public as of May 4, Butler
County continues to follow the administrative order dated March 18, 2020 until further
notice. Regardless, the Supreme Court was clear that when or if a county court resumes
non-critical matters, it must be done in compliance with current safety standards, and
the use of technology to reduce courthouse traffic was highly recommended. We are
preparing protocols to help guide practice for the foreseeable future.
. We hope to send you these protocols within the next week. Please note that they will
be subject to change as circumstances warrant. It is our hope to set clear expectations
so that everyone feels as comfortable as possible. Until then, please continue to follow
